Nutrient Testing

Studies show that anywhere between 60 and 80 percent of diseases are caused by lifestyle. This means that eating habits, physical activity, and emotional stress can be an underlying cause or a complicating factor in many diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and others.

Many of these lifestyle habits lead to a decrease of essential nutrients that the body needs for proper function, but how does one determine what the body actually needs? Most lab tests fall short when it comes to nutrient analysis because most of them are measuring what is floating around in the blood. This can be drastically affected by what a person eats and does just in the 24 hours before the blood draw.

To correctly assess the nutrient deficiencies in the body, the lab test needs to look inside a cell that is both easy to get from the body and is considered to represent the average cell in the body. The best cells for this are white blood cells because the lab can get a sample from a standard blood draw.

Using a special test called a Functional Intracellular Analysis, or FIA, the chiropractor can determine exactly what the body is missing. The FIA test is like looking at the last three or four months of what lifestyle has done to the body. It tests for the following nutrients:
